SOCIAL HARMONY IN NEPAL

The spirit of unity in diversity the prime key to social harmony in Nepal, considerably contributes to social enhancement Nepal is the land of multilingual, multiracial, multicultural and multi – religious societies. The people belonging to distinctly languages, races cultures and religious in habit in the same societies united and corporately. The people who belong to various languages and races respect and love each other Nepalese people have been divided into 4 castes and 36 sub-castes. They own their unique language being used by them for ages. The hatred between the races hasn’t been existing. The people speaking one language seem to be willing to learn other languages. Different castes and sub caste own narrow domestic walls cannot divide them into different hostile fragmentations. Various festivals belonging to different ultimately fosters unity, fraternity, friendship, closeness, respect and love among them. “NEPAL, THE LAND OF DIVERSITY” exists in the core of everyone‘s heart.

NEPAL, SECOND RICHEST COUNTRY IN THE WATER RESOURCES

          Our country Nepal is the second richest country after Brazil in water resources. Rushing rivulets and rivers gorges with astonishing depth, roaring falls, lakes in hypnotic tranquility and soon have contributed to the enrichment of water significance in Nepal. Among them, rivers contribute to the development of the nation must significantly. The major rivers in Nepal are Mechi, koshi,Bagmati, Narayani, Gandaki, karnali and Mahakali. Among them, the Koshi is the largest, the Narayani is the deepest and the Karnali is the longest rivers in the Nepal. The major lakes are Mahendra Tal, Phewa Tal and Begans Tal. Similarly, there are innumerable brooks, Streams and springs Snow-covered mountain peaks prove to be the permanent water resources of rivers, lakes and rivulets. If we preserve our water resources, we can earn foreign currency. The rivers in Nepal are suitable for rafting. We can produce more hydroelectricity than we need, it can be sold to our neighboring countries. The future of our nation depends on the proper use of water resources.

NEPAL, AN AGRICULTURAL COUNTRY

Our country Nepal is an agricultural country. Most of the people are farmers. They depend on agriculture, which is the backbone of the country, supplies people with the daily needs. Agricultural sectors provide us with many benefits and achievements. So, unless Nepal can develop agricultural sectors, the upliftment of the country proves to be impossible. More than 90% of the people are employed in agricultural sectors. If we can develop it properly, the problem of unemployment is easily solved. In Nepal, there are some industries which are based on agricultural products. It provides raw materials to agriculture – based industries. Furthermore, some raw materials for cottage industries can be provided from agriculture. Thus agricultural development in Nepal is very important to provide daily needs to the people, increase exports, cut down imports, solve the problem of unemployment and provide raw materials to some industries. The development of the country depends on the agricultural development. The government and responsible sectors should give the top-most priority to agricultural development

NEPAL AS A SECULAR STATE

Nepal was previously a Hindu kingdom. But when the king and the monarchy system was over thrown by the people. Our country was declared as a secular state. Before majority of Nepalese were Hindu, so our country was said to be Hindu kingdom. At present, all the religions, language, and cultures are given equal importance’s or value. Now no religion is superior or inferior to any other. Though still there are the people in majority following Hinduism all the religions are equally given priority. People are free to choose their religion and worship their own God. Apart from Hinduism, there are other religions such as Buddhism, Christinity, Islam, Kirantasim etc. All the gods and goddesses Lord Buddha, Jesus Christ, Prophet Mohammed and others have equal importance in their own place. No one is forced to follow the particular religion. Since our country is a secular state all the people can proudly follow their own religion customs and traditions.

NEPAL COUNTRY OF TEMPLES

 Rish in customs and traditions Nepal has different languages, rituals and religions. Likewise, there are many temples for the people who have faith and belief in religion. Our country Nepal has got uncountable number of temples. Moreover, Kathandu which is the capital city of our country is called “THE CITY OF TEMPLES”. Pashupati  Swayambhunath, Krishna Mandir, Daksinkali, Budhanilakantha, etc. even Nyatapole, the tallest temple of the world is situated at Kathmandu. Baglung Kalika, Tal Barahi, Bindasinin, Bhadrakali, Akaladevi, are the famous temples of Pokhara. No country in the world has so many temples which Nepal has got. Majority of the Nepalese are theist who believe in gods and goddnesses. Th enumber of atheist is very rare. So, it is obivious to have so many temples is more than that of churches and mosques. Hence, Nepal is also the country of temple.

NEPAL, BIRTHPLACE OF BUDDHA

Nepal is the birthplace of the lord of peace, Lord Gautam Buddha. The one who taught the world about peace and non-violence took birth on our motherland, Nepal. Gautam Buddha is also known as “THE LIGHT OF ASIA” spreaded the enlightenment in the world regarding peace, love, respect, truth, and non-violence. Lord Buddha who dedicated his whole life who left his family and all the wealth became the pride of our country Nepal and made Nepal known in the corners of the world. Also being born from the lap of luxurious king, he underwent severe penance. He later on propounded the religion, Buddhism which speeded in Nepal, India, Thailand, Srilanka, Myanmar, China, Japan etc. the explanation of philosophical principles of Buddhism is helpful for the people to find out the way of life. So, the search of truth and our pride Buddha represented Nepal in front of the world.

NEPAL, COUNTRY OF SAGARMATHA

 Being placed in the laps of the highest mountain, Nepal acts as a veritable magnet for persons following an active lifestyle. The world’s highest peak, Mt. Everest of height 8848m is situated in our country Nepal. Mt. Everest, which is known as the roof of the world lies in our country. Due to this our country is much known as the country of Everest. Moreover, Nepal consists of top- highest peaks in the world. So Nepal is also called the country of mountains. Mt. Annapurna, mt. Manaslu , Mt. Kangunga , Mt.Lhotse, etc are the peak of Nepal that makes the nature lover remain here. Nepal has it all which many destinations lack. Nepal tourism is also supported by the presence of the highest mountain of the world- Mount Everest. Mountaineers and ski-professionals regularly visit the country to sharpen their professional skills.

NEPAL, COUNTRY OF CUSTOMS AND TRADITIONS

     Nepal is also a country of cultural diversity. The diversity created is the result of mainly the topography of the country. Due to the diverse topography,  altogether different forms of life has  developed in the northern  Himalayan valleys and the southern plains of the Terai’s a result, the living style of people, their customs and traditions are different. According to Prithvi Narayan Shah, Nepal is a common garden of 4 caste and 36 sub caste. People of different customs and ethnic groups live here and people of different castes have their cultures. Exotic cultures have developed which differ with mid hills and southern plains being the traditions. The religion, language, festivals, rituals,etc differ according to the castes. In spite of the differences in castes, customs, and languages we live together like a garland made of different flowers that explains “Unity in Diversity”.

Nepal is extended from 26 22 N to 30 27 N latitude. Nepal is a mountainous country with about 83% of its total area consisting of mountains and hills, undulating slopes and river valleys. Remaining 17% s occupied by flat lands of the Terai. It is as low as 61 m in the Terai to as high as 8848 m   in Himalayas.
